As described on the home page, this beautiful vacation rental with ocean views is luxurious and private. Located in Crofton, BC, on the east coast of Vancouver Island, it is minutes away from Chemainus and Duncan. It is an hour’s drive to Victoria and 45 minutes to Nanaimo.
A Little History
The house sits on what they used to call “The Point”. A real character named Painless Parker lived in a log house, which is next door through the woods. He was a dentist and owned a still. The copper vat in which he used to distill his rum is still in existence.
He built a dock so that ships could stop as they traveled through the straight. He put a dentist chair on the dock and he could preform his craft there. He would also stock rum on the ships to send it to the US.
